Safeguarding

Galmpton Pre-school will work with children, parents and the community to ensure the rights and and safety of children and give them the best start in life.
Our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is Jane Podschies she is a member of our staff team and has been involved in supporting children to keep safe for many years. She is assisted by the Deputy Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) Tracey Davies who will support the DSL when she is unavailable.

Our Safeguarding policy is based on three key commitments.

  • We are committed to building a 'Culture of safety' in which children are protected from abuse and harm in all areas of our delivery service.
  • We are committed to responding promptly and appropriately to all incidents, allegations or concerns of abuse that may occur and work with the procedures that are set down in 'What to do if your worried about a child being abused! (HMG 2015) and the Care Act 2014.
  • We are committed to promoting awareness of child abuse issues throughout our training and learning programmes for adults. We are also committed to empowering children through our Early Childhood Curriculum Promoting their right to be strong, resilient and listened to.
